Antarctica and Its Natural Usefulness

By Matthew Flores Posted in travel /

Antarctica is a one of a kind land that is both beautiful and brutal. The uniqueness also comes from the fact it’s the only continent on earth that has never been bloodied by war. However, this continent, with a land mass larger than America and Europe together, has been the scene of more violent deaths than natural ones, due to continuous low temperatures which keep it practically free of any germs.

Present day Antarctica is a continent of contradictions as men of opposing political views labor in harmony, warm and contented three short inches away from a 100 degree below zero environment where blood freezes in seconds. Since the horrendous cold of Antarctica makes their bodies lose calories at an alarming rate, those living in Antarctica are forced to eat four generous meals a day just to keep up.

It is home to the “big eye,” a singular condition of mass insomnia caused by the perpetual daylight of summer where inhabitants cannot sleep in the full sunshine of 3:00 am. Antarctica loftily brags of the most distinctive club on earth, the “300 Degree Club.” There’s no bar that is further south on the Earth, nor is there one that’s less expensive; you can still run up a gigantic bar tab, even though you can buy a beer or a cognac for the same price. From April to September, the people there experience long nights.

A shield of 9000 foot of ice moves across the Antarctic heartland, this chunk of ice might have enough fuel in it to power the whole world. It’s laws are quite unique, for the most part all criminals are able to b extradited, he would be able to hide in the 9,000,000 miles of valleys and mountains if he had a way to survive.

There are no laws in Antarctica, but crime happens so infrequently there it doesn’t need them. If you wanted to commit a murder, you would do it in Antarctica, because you could never be prosecuted for it due to the lack of laws there. You can’t be extradited, and you can’t be charged with anything, leaving you off the hook for whatever you may have done.

Even though there are flags of 10 different nation here in Antarctica, not a single one has tried to exploit it’s real estate. There has not been a single attempt by any nation to try and form some type of permanent colony here. Even so, some of the most brilliant minds and best technology resides here.

Also, the majority of it’s short-time residents give it the reputation of the highest IQ per capita of anyplace in the world. There are more people here with degrees from high level universities than there are high school diplomas. Not only does it have more talented scientists than most universities, it continues to be the center of more peaceful R & D studies than most world capitals. This southern land is the only place where firing nuclear bombs is completely restricted.

While it has few criminal laws, Antarctica is home to some of the toughest environmental laws on the planet. A century ago the land and sea were bloody from the slaughter done by seal and whale hunters; today a special license is required before any animal life is killed. The worlds best scientists are fighting to keep this astonishing continent as pristine as it has ever been.
